Rise of Chinese tourists globally

In 2017, foreign trips globally were recorded were at 1.3 billion, which is 7% higher than last year. Previously believed to be 2.5-3%, a recent study disclosed that tourism contributes a whopping 1/10th of the global greenhouse emissions. Currently, China accounts for a tenth of global tourism, and is expected to rise to a quarter by 2030. China comes 2nd after the US for highest carbon footprint through tourism, followed by Germany and India. Read more..
